Some important data on features of work of a safety cushion

Safety cushions work only at rather strong front blow of the car. Force of the blow causing inclusion of an additional security system approximately corresponds to collision of the car at a speed of 40 km/h with the motionless car of the same weight and the sizes. Safety cushions are not inflated at front blow of average force, and also at blows of the car (even very strong) behind, sideways or at a car turning.

Safety cushions are protection devices of one-time action. They are not capable to protect you at repeated front blows which can happen after the first blow in the same accident.

Severe injuries, mutilations and death of the driver and passengers of the car are possible at strong accidents even if safety cushions worked in time and belts were adjusted and fastened properly. Any modern protective system cannot guarantee full safety of the driver and passengers at severe accidents.

Visual survey of the damage sustained the car as a result of accident usually happens very difficult authentically to establish, safety cushions had to or not work. In certain cases strong damages of a body demonstrate that a considerable part of energy of blow was absorbed by deformation of elements of a body. At the same time threshold value of delay for which sensors of delay are ready and which causes operation of safety cushions could be not exceeded. In other cases when the blow fell on more rigid part of the car (for example, a running gear) and was followed by more considerable delay, the body does not sustain considerable visible damage, and pillows work.

Functioning of a safety cushion of the driver

At front blow of sufficient force the safety cushion established in a nave of a steering wheel almost instantly is inflated and protects the driver from heading and a breast about a steering wheel.

Effectively to execute the protective function, the safety cushion has to be developed from the put state in working with very high speed. Therefore a safety cushion, protecting you from heavy mutilations and in some cases even saving your life, can become the reason of easy traumatizing. For example, you can get scratches, grazes on a face, etc. To reduce probability of traumatizing the person a safety cushion, it is always necessary to settle down on a driver's seat on the greatest possible removal from a steering wheel. At the same time, certainly, you have to ensure the good review and a possibility of a convenient manipulation all governing bodies of the car.

Right after filling by gas the safety cushion is quickly blown off, providing an opportunity to the driver visually to assess a situation after front blow and to correct the direction of the movement of the car by means of a steering wheel, and also to use other governing bodies of the car. The period from the operation moment before blowing off of a safety cushion lasts fractions of a second. You can even not realize at first that the safety cushion worked.

The safety cushion of the driver is in the put state under an overlay of a nave of a steering wheel. For your safety do not attach any foreign objects to a nave or a rim of a steering wheel. These objects can complicate normal functioning of a safety cushion or to be rejected by the inflated cover of a pillow and to injure you or other passengers.

The passenger airbag is in the put state from above in the right side of the control panel under a cover with the inscription SRS. Do not attach any foreign objects to a cover. At operation of a pillow these objects can be rejected by the inflated cover of a pillow and injure the passengers who are in the car.

The provision of seatbacks ensuring safety

In order that seat belts could perform effectively the protective functions, backs of front seats have to be given to vertical position. If you increase a seatback inclination, it will worsen fixing of a body a seat belt. The more the seatback is inclined back, the probability of duck under of a body under a belt at strong front blow of the car is higher and the heavier can be traumatized.

The provision of head restraints ensuring safety

Head restraints prevent traumatizing a neck and head at blow of the car behind. The head restraint has to be adjusted on height so that its top was flush with the upper edge of an ear.
