Removal and installation of an intermediate shaft (Integra model)

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Weaken nuts of fastening of the left forward wheel. A car front also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Remove a wheel.
2. Merge gearbox oil (see the Head Routine maintenance).
3. Release the lower control lever of a suspension bracket from a rotary fist (see the Head Podvesk and steering).
4. Having hooked the lever for a casing, release a pin of the internal CV JOINT from assembly of an intermediate shaft. Take a power shaft aside and tie up it a wire to a suspension bracket element (do not leave a power shaft hanging on the external CV JOINT at all!).

5. Turn out three bolts of fastening of a support of the bearing of an intermediate shaft to the engine block (see an accompanying illustration). Take a shaft from transmission, – try not to damage a differential epiploon.

6. Check freedom of rotation of the basic bearing (holding the bearing rotate a shaft). In case of identification of breakthroughs and points of jamming it is necessary to deliver assembly of a shaft in a workshop of car service as for replacement of the bearing it is made by means of the special tool.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Grease epiploon sponges in a transmission case with universal lubricant. Accurately fill a pin of an intermediate shaft in a nest of a side gear wheel of differential. Screw bolts of fastening of a support of the bearing and tighten from with the required effort.
2. Establish a new spring lock ring on a pin of the internal CV JOINT of a power shaft (see illustrations 1a and 1b), then fill a pin in assembly of an intermediate shaft.
3. Connect the lower lever of a suspension bracket in a rotary fist, tighten with the required effort (see Specifications to the Head Podvesk and steering) a nut of a finger of a spherical support.
4. Establish a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of a wheel with the required effort (see Specifications to the Head Routine maintenance).
5. Fill in in transmission necessary amount of oil of the required grade (see the Head Routine maintenance).
