Check and adjustment of turns of idling (each 48 000 km of a run or time in 24 months)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Turns of idling is called the frequency of rotation of the engine at the released accelerator pedal. This parameter is among critical, defining both operation of the engine generally, and serviceability of functioning of its various subsystems. Before starting check or adjustment of turns of idling make sure that a control lamp "Check the engine" it is not included. The air cleaner and spark plugs have to be in good shape, the PCV system to function regularly. Make sure of correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition.
2. According to instructions of manufacturers connect a manual tachometer.
3. Cock the parking brake and block wheels. Make sure that transmission is transferred to neutral transfer (RKPP) or is established in situation "P" (AT).
4. Start the engine and with a frequency of rotation of 3000 rpm warm up it up to the normal working temperature. As soon as the cooling system fan turns on, dump engine turns to single.
5. On all Integra models and all Civic models, except D16Y5 of release of 1996 and 1997 with CVT, D16Y8 of release from 1996 to 1998 with AT, all D16Y7 and D16Y5 1998 g of the issue with CVT perform the following procedures:
   a) Kill the engine and disconnect an electrical wiring from the valve of stabilization of turns of idling (IAC) (see the Head of the Power supply system and release). On all Integra models of 1998 of the issue, and also the Civic D16Y8 models with RKPP and D16Y5 with CVT of 1998 of the issue disconnect the electromagnetic valve of a purge of a coal adsorber;
   b) Start the engine and, having slightly squeezed out an accelerator pedal, record its turns on value 1000 in a minute. Slowly release a pedal, having dumped turns to single. Make sure that all consumers of the electric power are disconnected, and the fan of a radiator and the conditioner of air do not function;
   c) For the Civic models turns of idling have to lie in the range of 450 ± 50 in a minute, for all Integra models, except B18C5 1998 g of the issue – 480 ± 50 in a minute, for Integra of B18C5 1998 g of the issue – 550 ± 50 in a minute;

  d) If turns of idling need adjustment, uncover and rotation of the adjusting screw normalize them (see an accompanying illustration). You make adjustment step by step with a step to 1/4 turns of the screw;

In — the IAC valve Socket (on the majority of models it has to be disconnected)

   e) Kill the engine and connect an electrical wiring to IAC valves and purges of a coal adsorber;
   f) For ten seconds take from the assembly block in a motive compartment a safety lock of fires of a backing on 7.5 A – it will lead to cleaning of memory of codes of malfunctions of ESM;
   g) Start the engine and wait about a minute, having allowed to be stabilized by idling turns. Consider indications of a tachometer and compare them to the requirements of Specifications or values given on VECI label (in case of discrepancies preference should be given the last).
6. On stipulated in the paragraph 5 the Civic models, without disconnecting the IAC valve, perform the following procedures:
   a) Start the engine and wait about a minute, having allowed to be stabilized by idling turns. Consider indications of a tachometer and compare them to the requirements of Specifications or values given on VECI label (in case of discrepancies preference should be given the last).
   b) If turns of idling need adjustment, remove a cap and rotation of the adjusting screw normalize them. You make adjustment step by step with a step to 1/4 turns of the screw;
7. On all models include To/in and choose the maximum high-speed mode of functioning of the fan of a heater. Frequency of rotation of the engine has to increase on 50÷100 in a minute, otherwise violation of serviceability of functioning of the IAC valve or a control system takes place (see the Head of the Control system of the engine).
